Warranty

Everything we sell is covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015: it must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Many devices also carry a manufacturer's warranty. This page explains how the two work together and what is excluded. For change-of-mind returns see our Refunds and Returns page.

Your Legal Rights

  • Within 30 days: if goods do not meet the requirements of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you will generally have a short-term right to reject them for a refund. You may choose to request a repair or replacement instead.
  • After 30 days and within six months: you will generally be entitled to a repair or replacement in the first instance. This must be provided within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience. If a suitable repair or replacement is unavailable, unsuccessful or not provided as required, you may be entitled to a price reduction or refund. Faults discovered in this period are generally presumed to have been present at delivery unless the retailer establishes otherwise, or the presumption is incompatible with the goods or fault.
  • After six months: you may still have rights, although you may need to show that the fault was present when the goods were supplied.

These rights apply to online, phone and in-store purchases and cannot be reduced by anything on this page.

Manufacturer Warranties

Some pod kits, mods, tanks, chargers and other devices come with an additional manufacturer's warranty. The terms and duration vary by product and manufacturer, so please check the warranty information supplied with your item or contact us for help. Keep your receipt or order confirmation as proof of purchase. A manufacturer's warranty is separate from your statutory consumer rights and does not limit them.

Consumables

Coils, replacement pods, batteries, cartridges and drip tips are consumable products with a limited working life. Normal wear and tear is not covered as a manufacturing defect. However, if a product is faulty, not as described or not of satisfactory quality, your statutory consumer rights still apply. Whether a problem is normal wear or a fault depends on the circumstances. Please contact us as soon as reasonably possible if you experience a problem.

E-liquids and Disposables

If an e-liquid or disposable product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described, your statutory consumer rights still apply. For change-of-mind cancellations of online or telephone orders, some products supplied with a protective hygiene seal may be excluded after that seal has been broken, where the legal exception applies. Opening a product does not automatically remove your rights. See our Refunds and Returns page for further details.

What Is Not Covered

The following are not generally covered as manufacturing defects where they are responsible for the problem:

  • Damage caused by drops, impact or water or liquid entering a device
  • Damage caused by using an unsuitable charger, incorrect batteries or improper charging
  • Damage caused by modification, disassembly or use outside the manufacturer's instructions
  • Ordinary cosmetic wear, scratches and normal battery capacity loss over time
  • Damage caused by incompatible or unsuitable third-party coils, pods or parts

Using third-party accessories or opening a product does not automatically invalidate all rights. We assess the reported fault and its cause in each case. Nothing here affects your statutory consumer rights.

How to Claim

Contact us first. Many issues, such as a device not firing or a pod not reading, can be investigated over the phone or in store. Email support@vapedirect.com with your order number and a description of the fault, call 01908 579 888, use our contact form, or bring the item and your proof of purchase to one of our stores. If a return is needed, we will explain the arrangements and cover reasonable return costs where required by law.

Battery Safety

Vape batteries are lithium-ion cells. Use the charger supplied or one specified by the manufacturer, never leave batteries charging unattended, do not carry loose batteries with keys or coins, and stop using any battery with a torn wrap or damage. Dispose of old batteries at a battery recycling point, not in household waste. Ask in store if you are unsure. Contact us before posting damaged lithium batteries so safe return arrangements can be agreed.
