Age Verification Policy
At Vape Direct we take our legal and social responsibilities seriously. Under UK law it is illegal to sell e-cigarettes, e-liquids or any other vaping products to anyone under 18. To comply, we verify the age of every customer before an order is dispatched, and every store runs Challenge 25 at the counter.
By placing an order on our website you agree to let us confirm your age.
How We Verify Your Age Online
We verify age securely through our partner, OneID.
Information required at checkout
We ask for your full name, date of birth and billing address. Enter these exactly as they appear on your official records, such as your driving licence, the UK electoral roll or your UK bank account.
The verification process
- Background check: OneID attempts to verify your age automatically using bank-verified data or mobile network checks to confirm you are 18 or over.
- Consent: by ordering an age-restricted product you consent to us sharing your checkout details with OneID for the sole purpose of verifying your age. Your data is processed under UK privacy and security standards.
- One-time check: you only need to complete this once. On future orders, as long as you are logged into your account, your verified status is remembered.
If OneID cannot verify you automatically
You will see a secure OneID window offering instant alternatives:
- Verifying through your UK banking app (about 10 seconds, no card details needed)
- Entering your UK mobile phone number
- Confirming your electoral roll details
If Verification Fails
If OneID still cannot verify your age, your order is paused. You can email support@vapedirect.com with a copy of your ID (driving licence, passport or CitizenCard) to complete the check manually.
Please note: if we cannot verify your age through these methods we are legally required to cancel and refund your order.
In Store
All three stores operate Challenge 25. If you look under 25 you will be asked for photo ID: a passport, driving licence or PASS card. No ID, no sale.
Your Data and Privacy
We and OneID process your personal data securely. Your details are never used for marketing during this process and are held in accordance with the law. Read our Privacy Policy for how we protect your data, and see OneID for how they handle your information.
