E-liquids and Vape Juice

E-Liquids and Vape Juice at Vape Direct

Vape Direct stocks e-liquids from the UK's best-known brands, in three main types: 10ml nic salts, 10ml freebase e-liquids and 50ml or 100ml shortfills. Use the tiles at the top of the page or the filters to narrow the range by type, brand, flavour or nicotine strength. Every e-liquid we sell is for adult smokers and vapers only.

Nic Salts

Nicotine salts give a smoother throat hit at higher strengths than freebase nicotine, so they suit vapers who are switching from cigarettes and want a stronger nicotine hit from a small device. They come in 10ml bottles, usually in 10mg or 20mg, and work best in pod kits and other low power mouth to lung (MTL) devices. Browse our full range of nic salts, including Riot Squad, Bar Juice 5000, Elux Legend, Elfliq and OX Passion, all 3 for £12 or 6 for £20.

Freebase E-Liquids

Freebase e-liquid is the traditional style of vape juice. It gives a stronger throat hit than nic salts at the same strength and comes in 10ml bottles, typically in 3mg, 6mg, 12mg and 18mg. Higher PG blends such as 50/50 or 60/40 suit MTL pod kits and starter tanks. Our V4 Vapour range is 60/40 PG/VG and 4 for £10.

Shortfills

Shortfills are larger bottles of nicotine-free e-liquid with space left to add a nicotine shot. A 50ml shortfill plus one 10ml 18mg nicotine shot makes 60ml at about 3mg. A 100ml shortfill plus two shots makes 120ml at about 3mg. Most shortfills are high VG, such as 70/30 VG/PG, which gives bigger clouds and suits sub ohm and direct to lung (DTL) kits. See our 100ml shortfills for the best value per ml.

Choosing the Right E-Liquid

Start with your device. Pod kits and MTL tanks work best with nic salts or 10ml freebase liquids, while sub ohm kits need high VG shortfills. Then choose a strength. Smokers of 20 or more a day often start on 20mg nic salts or 12mg to 18mg freebase, lighter smokers on 10mg nic salts or 6mg freebase. Our guides on which nicotine strength to vape and the difference between nic salts and regular e-liquids explain both in more detail. If you need a device, browse our pod kits.

As well as the nic salt brands above, our e-liquid range includes IVG, Seriously by Doozy Vape Co, Wick Liquor, Dinner Lady, Pukka Juice and Vampire Vape.

E-liquids and Vape Juice FAQs

Is e-liquid the same as vape juice?

Yes. E-liquid, e-juice and vape juice all mean the same thing: the liquid a vape heats to make vapour. It is made from propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerine (VG), flavourings and, in most cases, nicotine.

What is the difference between nic salts and freebase e-liquid?

Both contain nicotine. Nic salts feel smoother at higher strengths, so they are popular with former smokers using pod kits. Freebase gives a sharper throat hit and is the usual choice at lower strengths or in shortfills.

Can I mix and match brands on the nic salt multibuy?

Yes. The 3 for £12 and 6 for £20 offers mix and match across Riot Squad, Bar Juice 5000, Elux Legend, Elfliq and OX Passion 10ml nic salts, in any flavours. Add your bottles to the basket and the discount applies automatically.

What does PG/VG ratio mean?

PG carries flavour and gives the throat hit. VG makes the vapour thicker. Higher PG liquids such as 50/50 suit mouth to lung devices. Higher VG liquids such as 70/30 VG/PG suit sub ohm devices and produce bigger clouds.

Why are nicotine e-liquids only sold in 10ml bottles?

UK rules limit any e-liquid that contains nicotine to 10ml bottles and a maximum strength of 20mg/ml. Larger bottles are sold as nicotine-free shortfills, which you can mix with a nicotine shot.

Can I use nic salts in a sub ohm kit?

It is not recommended. Sub ohm kits vaporise far more liquid per puff, so a 10mg or 20mg nic salt would deliver much more nicotine than intended. Use nic salts in pod kits and mouth to lung devices, and low strength shortfills in sub ohm kits.

How do I add a nicotine shot to a shortfill?

Unscrew the cap and prise off the dropper tip. Pour in the nicotine shot, refit the tip and cap, then shake the bottle for a minute so the nicotine mixes evenly. 50ml shortfills take one 10ml shot and most 100ml shortfills take two.

How should I store e-liquid?

Keep bottles upright with the cap closed, somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight, and out of reach of children and pets. Check the best before date on the bottle.

Do I need to be 18 to buy e-liquid?

Yes. We only sell e-liquids, including nicotine-free shortfills, to adults aged 18 and over.
